Welcome to SBC V

Our new Kingsbridge location serving grades K–1 in the Kingsbridge area of the Bronx! Ms. Diaz will serve as the founding School Director of our new school community. Ms. Diaz joined Classical in 2018 as a ClassiCorps Fellow and began her career teaching Fourth Grade before stepping into the role of Grade Team Leader in her third year. In 2022, she transitioned to Instructional Coach, where she focused on strengthening instruction, developing teachers, and supporting scholar achievement. In 2024, she was selected for the School Leader Fellowship and went on to serve as Interim School Director at SBC 2 and SBC 3, where she worked to strengthen school culture and uphold rigorous academic expectations. Ms. Diaz earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Vassar College and completed her Master’s degree at Relay Graduate School of Education. She is deeply committed to staff development, strong academic outcomes, and cultivating joy across the school community. We are excited for the leadership and vision she brings to SBC V.

Samantha Adelson joined Classical Charter Schools in 2020 as an instructional coach, dedicating herself to advancing curriculum and instruction. Following two highly successful years in this role, her unwavering commitment to scholar success and teacher outcomes earned her a place in the School Leader Fellowship in 2023. A graduate of Penn State University with a degree in history and Spanish, Ms. Adelson furthered her education by obtaining a master’s degree in education from Chestnut Hill College. Over the course of her 11-year career in education, she has taught kindergarten through 5th grade in North Philadelphia, Harlem, and the Bronx. Passionate about inspiring every scholar to reach their greatest potential, Ms. Adelson continues to make a lasting impact in the field of education.
