Join the ClassiCorps Teaching Fellowship

Classical Charter Schools was founded to provide scholars in the South Bronx, the most underserved burrow of New York City, with an excellent education so they become liberated citizens of impeccable character, ready to excel in college preparatory high schools and beyond. Hiring the right teachers is critical to achieving this mission. 

The ClassiCorps Teaching Fellowship provides teaching opportunities to candidates without experience who nevertheless strive to change the world through education. This program can accelerate a career in education to anyone willing to dedicate three years to our network and drive outcomes while making an impact.

ClassiCorps fellows are full-time, paid faculty members who share our commitment to leading scholars to impressive new gains. Fellows learn and employ our rigorous instructional model, simultaneously earning a free Master’s degree in Teaching.

The ClassiCorps Teaching Fellowship has provided me with the opportunity to teach a rigorous curriculum while practicing strong management skills. It really helps new teachers feel supported from all angles and it has been a great way for me to explore my passion for education.

Earn a Free Master's Degree at Relay School of Education

Our ClassiCorps Teaching Fellows earn a free Master of Arts in Teaching Degree part-time while completing their fellowship of hands-on training in the classroom. Relay Graduate School of Education, located in New York City, educates 1,400 dedicated students looking to further their teaching careers.

The Relay Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) translates educational theory into practice in a highly effective two-year degree and certification* program. Working with expert faculty and surrounded by dedicated peers, you’ll learn proven teaching skills and build the mindsets necessary to lead a vibrant, learning-filled classroom. You’ll also develop pedagogical expertise in your chosen subject area and learn strategies to educate the whole child. The targeted feedback you receive from professors and peers, coupled with unparalleled opportunities for authentic practice, will enable you to hone your skills and elevate your craft.

Review Our Qualifications

To apply for the Fellowship you must graduate by June of 2020 with an undergraduate degree and a GPA of at least 2.5. This is a non-negotiable requirement.

Be sure to include all relevant experiences and any other information that demonstrates a strong work ethic, achievement, and leadership. Proofread your resume before applying and be ready to talk about your experience in an interview.

Consider Your Timeline

It takes approximately two weeks to complete the application process. You will need to be available for a 30-minute phone interview and a two hour in-person interview between the hours of 9am – 5pm. To support long-distance applicants, we reimburse up to $300 for your transportation to the South Bronx.
